The Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Book Review in 20 Words or Less:
Claire goes back in time. Torn between husband and new hottie. Great book but wouldn't read the rest of series.
More Thoughts on the Book:
I read this 600 paged book in a week. It was about a woman, Claire, who currently lived in the mid 1900s and was a nurse for World War II. She touches some magic stones and travels back to the Highlands of Scotland in the 1700s. I personally found this very amusing. I enjoyed reading about the lives of Scotsmen during this era. (They used horse poop and hot ale to cure a headache!) Claire meets an outlaw, Jaime, whom sweeps, not only Claire off her feet, but me as well. I swear I almost called my finance Jaime at least three times while reading this book (his name is not Jaime).
I found the end anticlimactic and was extremely upset. Hello, I just 600 pages for nothing? After further research, it's the first of seven books in a series. I truly enjoyed reading it, but I don't think that I can put myself through translating the Scottish slang for another 6 books.
